I didn't get his (Jacob's) answers though - I mean he indicated that these people were selected because they were alone - but he must have meant child-less, because he touched Sun and Jin at their wedding - obviously not alone right? Well if you remember correctly, Jin and Sun were NOT getting along with each other. Sun was cheating on him a lot and when she boarded Oceanic 815 she was planning on leaving Jin and running away and hiding from him forever.
